“The federal government will rent access to the Medicare network of providers effective January 1, 2016. Access fees, comparable to the private market,  are projected to generate enough revenue to purchase health insurance for those who don’t want it, need it, or who can’t afford it.”

WASHINGTON: In an unprecedented and unexpected move today, the White House announced President Obama is planning to implement a new Executive Order that will allow all three remaining private health insurers access to the Medicare network of participating providers.

Self-funded health care plans will also qualify for the program.

It is anticipated plan sponsors utilizing the Medicare network will achieve substantial savings of 50% or more on health care costs.

Excerpt’s from White House announcement:

“The federal government will rent access to the Medicare network of providers effective January 1, 2016. Access fees, comparable to the private market,  are projected to generate enough revenue to purchase health insurance for those who don’t want it, need it, or who can’t afford it.”

“Balance billing by health care givers will be prohibited.”

“President Obama, in his promise to the American people, continues to find means to provide for the health care needs of every American. This plan accomplishes that goal.”

“Any monies left over will be invested back into the Medicare program, or applied to additional fringe benefits for members of Congress. We believe this strategy will enjoy full bi-partisan support, especially the later.”

President Obama will hold a national televised press conference tonight, 9:00 pm CST to discuss details of the plan.
