Ava Ortiz, age 6, gave an impressive performance this evening at the Houston Rodeo’s Mutton Bustin event.
After winning the simi-finals contest she was interviewed live in front of more than 50,000 enthusiastic spectators attending the event. Poised and confident, Ortiz explained she trained with the help of her parents, Frank and Maggie Ortiz.
Ortiz now moves into the finals later this month. Smart money is on Ortiz.
Ortiz is destined for great things ahead. When asked if she was up to riding calves at her ranch this summer, she asked “Will you put a saddle on them?” When told no, she replied “Good, that will be more fun that way!”
