Carenet Healthcare Services Adding 200 Jobs In San Antonio

The San Antonio-based company, which provides 24-hour expert telemed support, plans to hire more than 180 additional personnel during the remainder of July and the month of August for seasonal work at the company’s Northwest Side headquarters and at its Brooks City Base offices.

Carenet officials say increased demand for the company’s services has sparked the need for more outbound healthcare outreach specialist positions.

“Our Engagement Specialists assist people across the country in making informed, educated and cost-effective choices about their health care needs,” says Jane Binzak, Carenet’s vice president of people services.

In 1988, Carenet launched as a patient care advocacy and navigation operation within the Christus Santa Rosa Hospital System. Now, the health care services company has a client roster representing more than 20 million members worldwide.

Last September, I reported that Carenet was taking steps to address its growth, securing 13,000 square feet of space at Brooks City-Base, with plans to grab another 7,000 square feet of real estate on the Southeast Side, to accommodate an increased workforce.

“We’re in that zone where we are filling that gap between doctor and patient,” said Carenet CEO John Erwin at the time. “We are having a huge impact.”
