Barakat Blamed For Saving Patient $1,000

“Now I have almost $2,500 more to go! I could have come closer to meeting my deductible, earning 100% coverage for the rest of the year, but NO, you had to introduce me to Chris Barakat!!” screamed the patient.

In a previous posting we described how a Houston consumer was referred to Methodist Hospital (Houston) for a simple diagnostic procedure. When quoted a price of over $1,000 she called us. “Is this a fair price? I think it’s too much!”

So we made the awful mistake of introducing her to Chris Barakat. “Chris, can you provide us with your advice and guidance here?” we asked.

Chris recommended two other medical providers in Houston as possible options. In a weak moment filled with compassion, knowing we would be committing insurance treason, we passed the information on to our friend in need.

“Look here! she wrote today, “They just called me to confirm the ultrasound for tomorrow. It is actually going to end up costing $65 🤣

“Are you happy or sad now? we asked. “No, I’m pissed!” she screamed as she hyperventilated in agonizing frustration.
