HR Conducts Short & Pithy Open Enrollment Meeting

HR DIRECTOR: Good Morning Children! Welcome to Open Enrollment. Everyone should have a copy of the Plan Document in front of them. Let’s get started!

HR DIRECTOR: Before we begin today’s meeting it is important for you to know and understand that you are not to believe anything you hear or think you hear at this meeting. Rely on the written word. Raise your hand if you don’t understand what I just said.

HR DIRECTOR: Ok, hearing and seeing none, let’s proceed. Your deductible is $2,000. After that your plan pays 80% of covered benefits. Not all doctors and hospitals will accept an Assignment of Benefits. You may get a balance bill. All pre-existing conditions are covered. Prescription drugs are covered but not all of them are.

HR DIRECTOR: That concludes our presentation. Any questions?

JIMMY: Yes, I have a question. What’s our deductible?

HR DIRECTOR: Go to page 42 of the Plan Document and you will find out.

MARIA: What’s an Assignment of Benefits?

HR DIRECTOR: Go to page 23, under DEFINITIONS, all listed in alphabetical order. Find “Assignment of Benefits” and read the short definition.

GEORGE: What’s a pre-existing condition?

HR DIRECTOR: The answer is on page 56.

SALLY: Is my prescription drug covered?

HR DIRECTOR: Go to page 72 and you will find a link to our pharmacy listing. If your drug is covered it will be listed there.

HR DIRECTOR: Any more questions?
