When anyone tells us about manufacturer Rx rebates, our response is “Oh, you mean commissions, right? That’s what this is all about…………commissions. Commissions on a $100,000 per year specialty drug can be $45,000. Opps, I meant the rebate could be as high as $45,000.
The politically correct way to say it is “rebates.” Sounds cleaner. More surgical. Less controversial. It’s kind of like the same thing when we call government handouts “subsidies” instead of what it really is………..welfare.
