Employers would have more options to provide health insurance that doesn’t have to meet certain coverage rules and may come at a lower cost under an expanded version of H.R. 3799.
The bill incorporates four committee-approved measures that would:
- Codify a rule allowing employers to subsidize individual health insurance coverage through a health reimbursement arrangement (HRA).
- Expand access to association health plans (AHP) for businesses and self-employed workers.
- Prevent stop-loss insurance from being regulated as health insurance.
