“Sen. Lindsey Tichenor pressed the superintendent on the district’s credit card statements, calling its travel expenses “jaw-dropping.”
“She claimed the average monthly credit card expense is $400,000 and noted reimbursement for Liggins’ travel expenses alone in six months was $60,000. The receipts also included a $7,000 trip to Australia.”
“These are our taxpayers’ dollars that should be spent first and foremost to educate the students in Fayette County schools,” said Tichenor. “Not for luxury. It’s incredibly disappointing.”
