If your health plan is self-funded at all and there is a PBM in place servicing the prescription drug portion of the plan, I would take a look at this article. I know that others have posted about this recently as well, but being charged $10,000 for a drug that cost $40 is only done for one reason. I’ll let you decide what that reason is, and it definitely isn’t a good one. We had a similar situation with a new group of ours in Fresno that was paying $350,000 for a medication that we identified could be sourced for under $5,000 at a different pharmacy. This is the first of many potential class action lawsuits and fiduciary breaches in the PBM space
