I am pleased to tell you that we have successfully built an AI model to extract the procedure codes and pricing information from medical bills.
From here we can reprice the codes at the lowest fair price AND the patient can email the file to their employer so they can import it into their database.
Thank you to everybody who sent me their redacted medical bills to get this off the ground. Using a TPA or BUCA is not the only way to get claims data.
The cost of the AI technology is .70 cents per page. I think we’ll try to hit the street with a commercial product for $1 PEPM and the employer reimburses the employee for any AI cost.
This is a great advancement because disintermediation starts when the patient and clinician can engage together directly on prices
