A run on the bank appears to be in full swing. The sharks smell blood. Will TSHBP survive?
Proving self-preservation is a powerful instinct, the broker representing the TSHBP program has organized multiple zoom (survival) meetings for member school districts to hear presentations from Alliant, Blue Cross and Cigna as alternatives to the flailing TSHBP program.
The current self-funded TSHBP program administered by Caprock, a 90 Degrees Benefits company and subsidiary of Blue Cross of Alabama, is in apparent distress. A cash call was made to all member districts May 1 to the tune of millions of dollars to cover unexpected losses.
Blood in the water draws sharks. TSHBP member districts should be cautious.
