TRS Board Sets Higher ActiveCare 2026-2027 Rates

Despite a growing number of districts joining the government health plan, enrollment is down due to cost. Coverage on the individual market is often a cheaper alternative for TRS ActiveCare members.

  • Premiums will increase by less than 10% on average
  • Increased employer interest in returning to ActiveCare
  • Membership decrease due to the cost that employees pay for the health coverage (Are more members buying health insurance on the outside?)
  • Most benefits for 2026-27 remain largely unchanged for the Primary and Primary+ plans
