Tom, Dick, Harry and Mary

“Thank goodness I have Computer Accessory Insurance (CAI)! This only costs a $35 co-pay!” gloats Tom. “I saved $37.99!”

“Shoot Tom, looks like I have better CAI! My company insurance pays for everything as long as I play by the rules! Says Dick.

“Rules? What rules?” says Harry

“It’s called the Preferred Pricing Option (PPO)” says Dick. I carry two health care I.D. cards, one is my Blue Cross Blue Shield Not So Free Card and my Medsave Pay Nothing It’s Free Card. When I’m at the register to pay I have a choice – do I want a free charger or a not so free charger?”

“I got the same charger as you did, and I paid nothing. Thank goodness I have MedSave! I saved $46!” says Dick.

“That’s a No-Brainer!” chimes in Tom and Harry. “How can we get one of those MedSave Pay Nothing It’s Free Card?

Tom’s charger costs +270% more than Dick’s. Dick’s company enjoys a 63% Preferred Pricing Option (PPO) discount and is able to pass some of the savings on to plan members.

But there are always a few plan members who don’t want to play by the rules. Take Mary for example. She wants to purchase her Computer Charger at M.D. Anderson’s Turbocharged Retail Center.

“M.D, Anderson Turbocharged Retail Center has the best quality Microsoft – Surface 65 Watt Power Supply accessory on the planet!” says Mary. “Everyone knows that’s the best computer accessory store in our entire Solar System! Besides, I don’t care what it costs because my employer is paying for all of it! And remember, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!”

It MedSave is so good why isn’t every plan sponsor doing it?
