Texas News Anchorette Goes Viral

KSAT anchor goes viral for ‘speaking the truth’ about Texas leaders

KSAT12 anchor Stephania Jimenez has gone viral after “speaking the truth” about Texas leaders and their response to the deadly flooding that has killed over 80 people in the state over the Fourth of July weekend.

Jimenez, an anchor on The Nightbeat, was covering the catastrophic Texas flooding over the weekend. She shared her frustrations with Texas lawmakers after the leaders provided scarce details about the flooding on Saturday, July 5. The news conference lasted about 35 minutes, with agencies thanking each other for the majority of the meeting. Details weren’t shared until the last 10 minutes of the conference.

“What I was struck by is that we really didn’t get any concrete information until 27 minutes into that news conference,” Jimenez said. “You had the governor speak, you had  Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem speak for a while, but what people are wanting is information and also hope. But, I don’t know what it is about people who run for federal office that whenever disasters like this happen, they take it upon themselves to first list all the names of people they want to thank…Not what we want to hear right now.”

Jimenez went on to say that the people of Kerrville and Texas Hill Country deserve actual information. She said, ‘If they don’t have the latest information they can give us, they should have said so. My point is they spent way too long thanking each other.” Jimenez added that this is bipartisan and happens whenever there is a disaster under any administration or president. She said she hoped for Texas officials to provide more details in the future.

On TikTok, viewers praised Jimenez for her comments. Kristin Cruz posted her TikTok, which has received over 83,000 views, and wrote, “God bless this woman!!!
