The influential TEXAS HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES HOUSE COMMITTEE ON PENSIONS, INVESTMENTS & FINANCIAL SERVICES has issued their recommendations.
Among those recommendations is to restore TRS ActiveCare’s monopoly by prohibiting commercial competition.

Recommendations
– Explicitly prohibit independent school districts from using District of Innovation status a method for opting out of TRS-ActiveCare. (Squelch commercial competition)
– Continue evaluating state and district contributions to member’s healthcare plans. (Throwing more money at health care is government’s idea of risk management)
RISKMANAGERS.US OPINION
There is little chance the Texas legislature will enact a Bill to limit choice in health care. Too many districts, with many more to come, will have implemented competitive alternatives. Come & Take It! will be their answer.
