Readers Digest Condensed Version: If you don’t have health insurance and accrue hospital bills you cannot be billed more than 25% more than what the hospital accepts from it’s lowest BUCA reimbursement rate
If the average BUCA reimbursement rate for in-patient hospitalization is 250% of Medicare, uninsured patients will be required to pay no more than 312.5%. But none of this really matters because a person without insurance couldn’t afford hospitalization at current prices anyway.
