HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Raymondville Independent School District Health Clinic is set to close its doors in July.
The decision to close the clinic was announced on Monday in a social media post.
“As a health clinic, you need to have a certain amount of patients to be able to sustain. And at this point, many other patients moved on to other health care providers,” said Jose Raul Valdez, Raymondville ISD Deputy Superintendent. “That didn’t allow us to continue and to sustain our operations.”
Valdez shared that the clinic began serving students, staff and the surrounding community after the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Raymondville ISD Health Clinic facility was also used for hands-on training by health students enrolled in the CTE program.
“We’re very proud of our clinic and what it’s done for our community and for our students the past five years,” said Jose Raul Valdez, Raymondville ISD Deputy Superintendent.
Valdez said the clinic will still be used for student training purposes.
The Raymondville ISD Health Clinic will no longer operate on July 1.
