*Cash price (no PBM) in USA is $499

In Canada, the brand-name Ozmpic is available for US$199 without the presence of PBMs. Conversely, in the US, the identical medication manufactured by the same company is priced at over $1,000, driven by the profit motives of US PBMs.
Furthermore, Canadian pharmacies profit at the lower price point, while US pharmacies struggle as PBMs reimburse them below the wholesale cost. The disparity in pricing between these two countries raises critical questions about the true purpose of PBMs in the US.

Why is the USA cash price of $499 more than double the Canadian price? Who is getting the other $300?
