In their April 24, 2025 Commissioners Court meeting county commissioners awarded their group medical insurance program to Blue Cross to be effective October 1, 2025.
Five TPA’s submitted proposals including Blue Cross, Boon Chapman, Cigna, Curative and United Healthcare. Aetna did not submit a proposal due to their contract with the current TPA, Boon Chapman.
The county’s insurance adviser noted the county’s cost will not increase due to this change in TPA’s.
