Medical Malpractice Costs Declining

belk  By David Belk, M.D.
The cost of medical malpractice has dropped dramatically in the US over the last decade and I now have all the numbers needed to prove it!

I created a new webpage that provides a clear analysis of the trends in medical malpractice in the US from 2003-2013. It provides easily downloadable graphs and data tables that show how the cost of medical malpractice has dropped in the US as well as the trends in malpractice costs for each individual State. It’s based on data taken from the National Practitioner Data Bank website which is also linked at the top of my webpage.
Medical Malpractice will always be a controversial subject since many doctors believe malpractice suits are almost never warranted. I have no intention of addressing that subject here. This webpage only addresses the financial impact of medical malpractice on health care costs as a whole. Based on the data presented here it’s easy to see that the financial impact of medical malpractice on health care costs in the US is both trivial and declining.
