Concentra Urgent Care has opened a new medical facility in the Fiesta Trails Shopping Center in Northwest San Antonio.

Concentra now has a half-dozen urgent care facilities in Bexar County. This newest center, at 12651 Vance Jackson Road, is one of the company’s largest to date.

The Concentra Urgent Care Center at Fiesta Trails will provide treatment for common nonlife-threatening illnesses, injuries and conditions, as well as occupational, wellness, digital X-rays and health screenings. The center will be open seven days a week and will offer in-house physical therapy for patients dealing with post-operative rehabilitation, work- and sports-related injuries, arthritis and age-related conditions, and chronic physical disabilities.
Kevin Boehle, regional medical director for Concentra, said the new urgent care center will help “bridge the gap between primary care physicians and emergency departments, at a time when primary care physicians are increasingly over-burdened and the cost of treating nonemergency health issues at emergency departments has become an unsustainable economic drain on patients.”

The new center has six patient exam rooms, a procedure room and an area for physical therapy.

Concentra, founded in 1979, operates more than 300 urgent care facilities in the United States. The company is a subsidiary of Louisville, Kentucky-based Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM).
