How many plan sponsons read their PBM contracts? Or their BUCA ASO contracts? Or any of their health plan contracts?
I once asked a County Judge (who happened to be an attorney) during a Commissioners Court meeting; “Judge, did you read the contract before signing it?”
His only choice was to answer; “YES, of course I did!”
Not being able to hold back, and without thinking or caring of the consequences, I asked; “Then why did you sign it?”
It’s not hard to guess the consequences. The filter between brain and mouth failed once again and I soon joined the soup line down at La Placita.
“Welcome back Bill! What did you do wrong this time?”
