“I’ll make you an offer you can’t refuse…………!”
By Bill Rusteberg
There are areas in Texas where hospitals have circled the wagons against Reference Based Pricing infidels. “We ain’t gonna see you unless you have an emergency!” snarls the local hospital intake clerk. “Go somewhere else to die!”
Employers in those parts of Texas who don’t want to fight the system by employing domestic medical tourism and other proven risk management strategies are best served by hospital employed insurance brokers bearing gifts.
“I guarantee I can help you” purrs the gravel voiced hospital representative. “First step is the intervention process, weaning you away from the Reference Based Pricing cult mentality promoted by rabble rousers in hoodies! Your employee’s entitlement demands are core to our success!”
Hospitals have all kinds of licenses. Adding an insurance license is a no brainer. It makes good business sense as it turbocharges their license to steal before, during, and after all hospital encounters.
Hospital employed insurance brokers, if they even exist at all, have the easiest sales job on the planet. No sales skills are necessary when there is a captive audience begging for access to care at any cost and angry employees demanding it.
