Employers may have to pay more in 2022. but here’s a solution………
For plan years beginning in 2022, coverage is considered affordable if an employee’s required contribution for self-only coverage does not exceed 9.61% of the employee’s household income.
SOLUTION:
Reduce every employee’s paycheck by 10%. Then pay 100% of the employee premium for the worst Bronze Plan possible.
EXAMPLE:
Payroll on 150 employees = $600,000 per month X 10% = $60,000 or $400 PEPM which will easily pay for a crappy Bronze Plan.
THEORY:
Employers don’t pay for health insurance, employees do and always have through reduced pay. So let’s make it brutally transparent instead of pretending it’s all the employer’s money paying for all of this.
