Appears some lab testing companies are taking advantage of the opportunities offered due to the pandemic. A Reference Based Pricing plan would never pay such outrageous fees.

We actually turned down the ability to run the pan-viral tests that Quest and other labs offer. They were asking us to pay outrageous fees for these, and the value to making treatment decisions was nil. Interestingly, some of them bundled the Coronavirus test into the pan-viral test panel. Theoretically, that could be cheaper, except you don’t really need to know the answer to any of the other viruses. Only the CV.
