The idea for Ethos began when co-founder Lingke Wang was in college and was sold an expensive life insurance policy he didn’t need and couldn’t afford. The process was outdated and the options were opaque.
He soon realized he wasn’t alone. Many families were stuck in an antiquated process that took weeks, or even months, making it difficult to get the protection they need.
In 2016, classmates Peter Colis and Lingke Wang founded Ethos with the goal of making life insurance affordable, accessible, and straightforward. By using technology and data, they transformed a slow, outdated process into a 100% online experience that makes getting life insurance fast and easy.
