Actuaries advising us to prepare our clients for as high as 15% increases in claims costs next year because of these weight loss drugs, especially to our struggling public entity clients like schools and municipalities who are facing layoffs and further cuts.
As the article (see link below) mentions, the State of Connecticut’s health plan is expecting a $30M bump in costs for these GLP-1 drugs is insane. $1000-1300 per month per patient!
This may be a better business plan than the Mexican cartels’ with their synthetic fentanyl growth and while having a third party (employers and taxpayers) pay for it. Don’t tell the cartels.
