UT Southwestern Medical Center Violates ACA IRS Nonprofit Requirement and Refuses to Speak with Me or Patient. PURPOSEFUL OBSTRUCTION.
- UT Southwestern Medical Center does not have its financial assistance policy online as require due to its nonprofit tax status as required by the ACA and IRS 501r. It is purposeful obstruction.
2. Christina Jasso, Supervisor, Patient Financial and Access Services, Patient Financial Advisor, recalled her email (see screenshot below) but it came to me anyway. It is purposeful obstruction.
3. Peggy Johnson and I spoke last Thursday. I asked her to have Christina call me back as there is no financial assistance policy online. There is only a couple paragraph summary. She did not call me back. It is purposeful obstruction.
4. UT Southwestern did not publish its amounts generally billed (AGB) as required as a part of its financial assistance summary. It is purposeful obstruction.
5. An earlier call to UT Southwestern last week by me at 12:30 CST was met with the message they were “out to lunch” and “call back later.” There was no option to leave a voice message – not very caring for a supposed healthcare institution. It is purposeful obstruction.
6. I called UT Southwestern this morning and I and I listened to a prerecorded message and it hung up on me. No live person, No VM capability. Just a hang up. It is purposeful obstruction.
So what’s next?!
1. Formal complaint to IRS on Form 3949A to investigate UT Southwestern and revoke its tax status. Will encourage the IRS investigation by telling IRS UT Southwestern is part of the Tea Party movement.
2. Formal complaint to State of Texas Attorney General office.
3. Have patient shrink monthly payment very significantly to slow walk UT Southwestern until they speak with me.
4. Have patient apply for financial assistance. The application was online. The policy was not.
