De Facto “Union Leaders” Are Solving Health Care

What’s all this nonsense about saving plan sponsors a whole lot of money by solving health care?

“Our insurance plan will save you money” is the salesman’s message to CFO’s. “Your bottom line will improve, your profitability will soar. Permit me to show you how I can save your company a whole lot of money and I will.”

The messaging ignores the truth. It’s not about improving the corporate bottom line per se because they are going to spend it anyway. They factored the cost of company sponsored health insurance in their budget, a line-item that goes to employee compensation. Employees are, in truth, required to pay for health insurance through reduced compensation but without representation.

Union leaders say it should be about improving the bottom line for workers who are paying for all of this.

So who are these union leaders? They are health care renegades like Mitigate Partners, de Facto union leaders representing working families under the guise of saving plan sponsors money.

And that’s the truth.
