The city of Brownsville and DHR Health Brownsville have entered into a Chapter 380 grant agreement to expand the 80,000-square-foot, three-story facility — adding approximately 14,000-square-feet to the hospital.
As part of the agreement, the city of Brownsville will also incentivize DHR Brownsville with $2 million “to encourage private investment that supports community and economic development goals,” according to a news release.
The announcement of the expansion comes less than three years after DHR Brownsville opened its doors at 4750 N. Expressway on March 27, 2023.
