My son is scheduled for knee surgery in a few weeks. I just got this itemized bill from the ASC. Notice the cpt code is given along with a low price.
They write that this bill is the facility component only. And that the anesthesia will be around another $575. Folks.
The hospitals, price transparency and the lack of itemized bills is NOT the problem. Pointing fingers at them is wrong. The problem is the TPAs, claims data, and intermediaries gumming up the reimbursement to extract their bounty. It’s such a waste of money.
Pay direct and save money.
