Watch Aetna, Blue Cross, United Healthcare & Independent TPA Give Their Sales Pitch

The Brownsville Independent School District recently went out for Request for Proposals for TPA services for the district’s self-funded employee health plan. The four finalists include Aetna, Blue Cross, United HealthCare and one independent TPA.

It’s interesting to watch each sales pitch. All talk about their PPO discounts as being the best. (Start at 45 min). For example UHC said their discounts are 71%. Blue Cross said theirs is 70%.

The end of the session includes an opportunity for pubic input. The first speaker, Mr. Salinas (start 1:55) brought up the key driving force of increasing costs. The last speaker, Mr. Chavez, (start 2:02) makes some interesting comments as well. If you don’t have time to watch this entire video (starting at 45 minutes into the video) it’s worth watching these two citizens addressing health care costs.
