Under the leadership of the district’s risk manager, Mike De La Rosa, the Weslaco Independent School District has historically demonstrated an almost unequaled track record of “thinking outside the box” amongst Texas school districts.
Although not the first Texas school district to adopt Reference Based Pricing (RBP) strategies, the Weslaco Independent School District is, to our knowledge, the first in the great state of Texas to formally seek competitive Reference Based Pricing proposals for their self-funded employee health insurance plan.
We are sure the Weslaco Independent School District will receive wide interest in the market with numerous Reference Based Pricing models to consider from multiple vendors.
